Does Capitalism Lead to Socialism?

"Karl Marx said that capitalism is a step along the way to socialism. This is a very uncomfortable thought to me, I must confess. To gain some perspective, it helps to look at a little history..." ~ "Maybe Marx was right" by David Bailey.

I thought this was a pretty interesting post, especially considering I love philosophy. Check it out if you want!

  1. Well, maybe it does. Not sure. What I do know is that every other first world country on the earth is moderately Socialist except for guess who? I'm not saying that's a problem, I'm just pointing it out. Interesting article, though.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: I hope Followers Say doesn't interrupt the nation-wide energy saving hour tomorrow from 8:30 to 9:30. I hate to rain on the parade, but every American citizen with florescent or incondescent, mac or PC, blackberry or iPhone, is expected to participate.

I hope everyone can avoid posting during those times.

  2. I think that no matter what form of Government we have or live under, if the actions of the authorities and those under authority are in line with God's morality, then that nation will be blessed. Consider the Monarchies. Those would have worked just fine as well, if the kings weren't slimeballs like most of them were. The advantage that Democracy has is that it is a better slimeball filter. But it isn't perfect. No system will ever be a better garantee of good society than good morality.
